Darren routinely advises clients on corporate and commercial matters ranging from business start-up to business sale, corporate reorganizations, commercial financing, insolvency and restructuring, and a host of related owner/operator issues. In addition to his small to medium sized business client base, Darren counts several chartered banks, national, and multinational companies as clients. These include national retailers, telecommunications companies, construction companies, and firms involved in real estate development and investment.

Prior to O’Keefe & Sullivan with his partner Colin in 2022, Darren was a partner at a major regional law firm where he sat on the provincial management committee and the regional board of directors.

Outside of his law practice, Darren is actively involved with several not for profit and industry organizations. These include the Canadian Bar Association the Canadian Home Builders Association Newfoundland and Labrador, the Newfoundland and Labrador Construction Association. Darren is also a strong supporter of the arts and music community in Newfoundland and Labrador, having previously served as in various volunteer roles, including as past Chair of the Wreckhouse International Jazz and Blues Festival.

Darren holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree from the University of New Brunswick, and a Bachelor of Civil Laws Degree with Honors from the National University of Ireland.
